Social Activities

 
The saying goes "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", and never has a truer word been spoken, This is exactly why we put to one side our usual fund raising efforts and make the time to organise some fun social events over the course of the year.
Here are just some of things that we get up to........

Race Nights

 

Held every year at the Camberley Rugby Club in partnership with the Scruffs, members, partners and friends alike come along and place bets on pre-recorded races.

Our ever hard working Lady Lions even find time during the course of the evening to hold a raffle with proceeds going towards local Lions charities.

We normally charge around £8 per ticket for this event which includes a main meal. This is always a great chance for us to get together and relax.

 

Charter Night

 

 

This is the celebration of our birthday. Members and associates are all invited to attend this black tie evening held at Pine Ridge Golf Club.

We are normally joined by the Mayor of Surrey Heath as well as fellow Lions and their partners from other clubs within our district (105SE) to enjoy a splendid 3 course meal finished off nicely with dancing to the sounds of the fantastic FBI.

Speeches are (hopefully) kept to a minimum, but this is usually to avoid heckling.

 

 

Presidents Handover

 

 

 

With much the same style and grandeur of the US presidential inaugoration, every year the outgoing Lion President hosts a handover party. These events are always great fun and give our members another chance to get together and let our hair down.....and for the outgoing president to breath a sigh of relief.

Food is organised and prepared by our Lady Lions - not enough thanks can be given for all of their hard work throughout the year.

Quiz Nights

 

Every year we try to hold at least two quiz nights. Normally the first of which is held at the Camberley Rugby Club in conjunction with the Scruffs. The second is an event held at the Royal British Legion organised and run by our Lady Lions. These nights are always great fun and will normally have at least some of our members dumbfounded at some point during the course of the evening.

Tickets for these events are usually around £8 and as with our Race Night include a main meal.
